Já está disponível o cronograma dos debates que acontecerão durante o Encontro Anual da JASNA, entre os dias 5 a 7 de outubro de 2012. Este ano a temática principal será em torno de Amor, Dinheiro e Poder na Ficção de Jane Austen. Confira aqui as diversas palestras.

Entre as inúmeras palestras acontecerá a do amigo Tim Bullamore, no dia 05 de outubro. Confira abaixo:

Sex, Money and Power in Death: Obituaries in the Time of Jane Austen
Newspaper obituaries were well established by the time of Jane Austen. Yet then (as now) they were generally afforded to the rich, the powerful and the male of the species. Austen was none of these; thus notifications of her death were sparse in content. This session compares those that did appear with other obituaries of her time, in particular the widespread lamenting of the death of Princess Charlotte, who died a few months after Austen.
Tim Bullamore, Editor of Jane Austen’s Regency World Magazine, is also an award-winning obituary writer who has contributed to major British newspapers as well as undertaking research into the genre.

Acabo de receber uma dica do amigo Tim Bullamore, editor da Revista Jane Austen’s Regency World a respeito de um dos temas da próxima edição. Como estamos bem próximos do início das Olimpíadas em Londres a revista abordará o tema esportes. E fica a pergunta: quais seriam os esportes  Jane Austen e seus contemporâneos teriam praticado?

Acabo de conversar rapidamente com Tim Bullamore, editor da Revista Jane Austen’s Regency World – ele está na Conferência da JASNA no Texas! 🙂
Foi uma agradável surpresa poder conhecer um evento da JASNA, mesmo que tenha sido apenas pelo Skype! Eu tive a oportunidade de ver o saguão do hotel, onde está acontecendo o evento, e ficar maravilhada com a enorme quantidade de livros à venda! 
Também tive a oportunidade de conversar rapidamente com Carrie Bebris – autora de várias continuações dos livros de Austen. Conheça um pouco mais sobre a escritora, que também publica livros em italiano, visitando o site.
